Hi:
Try manually installing the driver as follows...
Go to the device manager and click on the device needing the driver.
Click on the driver tab.
Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp98397
Make sure the include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.
Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the hardware ID you posted...

Hi, @sergiopezzo:
That is not the LSI SAS2308 controller you need the driver for.
You need this driver...
This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (RSTe) Drivers and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for serial ATA (SATA) RAID controllers in supported workstation models that are running a supported Microsoft Windows Operating System.

Hello,
Same issue with my Z820 but the link in this thread is gone. Any chance someone can repost as I require this "intel" related driver as well. Im sure others do as well.
Wish HP would just let someone internal to HP spend 5 minutes a day putting up a hardware related drivers to keep there workstations running. Pretty easy to test on a known system with windows OS. Heck one minute a day would do it.
Thankx!
Found the driver, installed and worked fine on my Z820 for the WIN 10 64 pro version.
Still think HP could and should do this footwork instead.

Hi, @domari
HP removed sp79023 and replaced it with this one, which is the updated driver...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp98001-98500/sp98397.exe
I have edited my posts that had the driver that was removed, and replaced it with the new one.
