Good evening,
I have an Elitedesk 705 G4 (SFF) and I was trying to upgrade my processor from a Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G, to a Ryzen 7 Pro 2700. I used this document I found from a recent discussion (https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06040429.pdf) in this website where it listed the processor to support my computer. However, when I tried to upgrade my processor, I get no display at all. The computer turns on, but I don't see any output at all. Could there be any problems?
EDIT: (I forgot to include the fact that I have an RTX 3050 6GB LP Installed and have the Displayport plugged into it)

Based on everything you've already tried -including BIOS update, CMOS reset, and testing with lower-power GPUs, the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700 may very well be defective. If possible, test the CPU in a different AM4 board to confirm. The lack of USB power during POST attempts suggests a CPU-level failure, not just a graphics or driver issue. The drivers installed in Windows won’t affect POST behavior at all, since POST occurs well before the OS loads.

Are you sure you got a Ryzen 7 Pro 2700 rather than a Ryzen 7 2700 or a Ryzen 7 2700X?
Another point is that a low-profile RTX 3050 requires at least a 250-watt power supply. If you only got a 180-watt power supply, this card would not work.

-Yes I have a Pro 2700 CPU, not the 2700X variant.
-When I had my 2400G inserted, the PC would boot and work properly while the card's in. (Still with the Displayport plugged directly to the GPU).

Troubleshooting Checklist:
1. BIOS Version Too Old:
Your system must be on a newer BIOS version that includes microcode for the 2700. If you have an older BIOS version, this is the likely root cause.
Fix:
Reinstall the Ryzen 5 Pro 2400G and update the BIOS to version 02.24 via HP’s website: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-elitedesk-705-g4-small-form-factor-pc/21353680.
2. CMOS Needs to Be Reset:
After a CPU swap, the board may require a CMOS reset to reinitialize.
Fix:
With the system powered off and unplugged:
Remove the CMOS battery for 10 minutes
Or use the clear CMOS jumper if available
Then reinsert battery and try again
3. PSU Margin Is Too Tight:
Even though the system runs with a Ryzen 5 2400G + RTX 3050 LP, the Ryzen 7 Pro 2700 draws more power: the Ryzen 7 2700's eight cores and higher clock speeds generally lead to higher power consumption during operation compared to the Ryzen 5 2400G's four cores and the combined load may exceed the limits of the default 180-watt PSU -especially during POST.
4. Check CPU Pins and Socket Alignment:
Just to rule it out -inspect for bent pins or improper seating.
5. RAM Training Quirk:
Try booting with only one stick of RAM in Slot A1 to simplify POST.

1. I have had my BIOS on the latest version prior to having the new CPU that I wanted to use. (I even double checked to confirm.)
2. I've done a reset to the CMOS as instructed and saw no changes whatsoever.
3. I've tried to boot with a lower-end card (RX 550 & even a GT 1030), but still saw no display, nor any of my peripherals turning on.
4. I've also confirmed that I installed the CPU properly; aligning to where the arrow should be.
5. I have also tried to boot with only 1 stick of RAM (on all the other slots as well.)
Honestly, I have a really dumb question... Could the AMD drivers I have installed for the Ryzen 2400G, considering it has an iGPU while the Pro 2700 doesn't, potentially cause the problem?
