HP Compaq 6000 Pro Microtower
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi Everyone

Could I get some help to find the PCI serial port driver for HP Compaq 6000 Pro Microtower. It has Windows 10 x64 installed. The Hardware IDs are

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E17&SUBSYS_3048103C&REV_03
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E17&SUBSYS_3048103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E17&CC_070002
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2E17&CC_0700

Thanks.

P.S there was already a topic about it from 2014, but link of driver was not working.

Hi:

You need this driver...

This package contains the Intel Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) for the supported desktop models and operating systems. This software is part of the Intel Digital Office Initiative.

Haha That's it! I actually saw that driver in the HP 6200 Drivers List, but I thought it was some sort of remote management driver, but it SOL (Serial Over LAN)! I've been staring at those question marks for WEEKS trying to figure out what I was missing. Thanks! 🙂

You're very welcome.

Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) is for remote access into a pc, and the AMT program requires the SOL (serial Over Lan) driver to operate

it appears you may have the AMT remote access option enabled in the bios, unless your require remote access features AMT should be disabled, this should also remove the com 3 entry in the device manager list

last, note that AMT is only found on systems with the Intel vPro option
