My PSU has a lot of coilwhine even when the computer is idle. And when the system is turned of it is "ticking" It has time left on the 3y3y3y warranty but the service centers in Sweden only seem to handle consumer grade equipment when i look at the service chart? Will HP send replacement parts?

I will give it a try and call support over the phone tomorrow.

 

Is the 450w model with part number M86371-001 that seems faulty in my case.

Hello,

 

if machine is under warranty then do not hesitate to reach HP support and ask for replacement.

There is risk that some electronic part inside PSU that is faulty can later impose fire-hazard.

Support sent out a new PSU shortley after submitting a case, waiting for the part to arrive.
