Permanent Secure Boot Disable

Hi,

trying to disable Secure Boot and enable legacy mode to be able to boot from USB stick.

Doing that in the BIOS but as soon as I save and reboot, Secure Boot goes back to being enabled again: the BIOS setting change does not stick.

Please help!

Hi,

Try creating a supervisor password in the Bios (do not forget it) and perform the changes to secure boot. You can always remove the password later.

Hi David,

Did not work.

created the administrator password, and disable Secure Boot.

Once rebooted, secure boot is right back to being enabled.

Any other ideas?

Hi, in Bios settings under Secure Boot Configuration can you set "Clear secure boot keys" to "clear" ? regards

Nope, that's precisely why I'm trying to de-activate SecureBoot!

Hello

when you , in the BIOS setup , have disable SecureBoot , you save the configuration and the computer automatically reboot.

After you saved , you don't have to press any keys , just wait for a message appearing on the screen asking you to type a four digit number , the press Enter.

That's the standard procedure.

Doesn't work for me.

As I said before, after reboot, SecureBoot goes back to being enabled.

HP "elite" customer service does not want to take up the challenge BTW.
