Hello,
I just setup my new Z2 workstation and I'm getting very poor performance with VirtualBox VMs for some reason. I have not messed around with any system services or disabled/uninstalled any HP stuff. Virtualization is already enabled of course, and I have tweaked the appropriate VM settings for the processer and memory, but it seems that any virtual machine I try to load, old or new, runs absurdly slow to the point of completely freezing. My Kali linux VM won't even boot without a kernel panic.
Is there some kind of default security feature that might be causing this?

After some reading, I found out that the sluggish performance was due to Hyper-V being used by another process. Disabling "core Isolation" in Windows settings completely fixes the problem. My Linux VMs were still broken, but reinstalling the bootloader fixed them.

Hello @jom2000
(1) Tell me the specification of your HP Z2 G9 Workstation ?
Send Speccy Report
https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy
( blur every serial number ! )
(2) The performance of a VM depends on how you set the system settings of the virtualized OS (operating system).
- Create screenshots of all resource settings of a created VM container.
