Hi I have a HP EliteDesk 800 G5 TWR with standard power supply.

Core i7 9700 cpu and 32gb ram.

I wish to upgrade the powersupply so my son can use this pc as a beginner gamer pc.

Im hoping to find a 550 -> 750w so I can put in a propper grafic card something like RTX 5060 Ti

Is it possible? What will fit?

@theamigo,

Your HP EliteDesk 800 G5 TWR is only compatible with HP proprietary power supplies.

500-watt power supply: p/n: L05757-800 / 901759-013 / L77487-003

550-watt power supply: p/n: L75200-004

650-watt power supply: p/n: L57253-003 / L36049-003

I don't think that the latest Nvidia RTX 50xx graphics cards are compatible with your PC, based on the fact that no RTX 50xx cards can be found in any of the HP System EliteDesk 800 G5 TWR user benchmarks found here: UserBenchmark: HP EliteDesk 800 G5 TWR Compatible Components.

With the 500-watt power supply you could power up to an RTX 4060 Ti -I would choose a smaller-sized (dual fan) model such as this example, as these cards require only one 8-pin PCIe power supply cable.

With the 650-watt power supply, you could power up to an RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Super or RTX 4070 Ti.  Preferably choose a smaller-sized (dual fan) model as well.

Kind Regards,

I just got the 650w psu now from alibaba.

And I ordered the : MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16G VENTUS 2X OC PLUS. (because it was on offer cheaper than RTX 4070 Ti) and I can reuse that when I get a newer pc sometimes in the future.

ChatGPT told me is ok, but will miss 3-5% speed because of no Resizable BAR options in my bios...

Cant wait to see if i "fires up" or else I will just return the GPU and go for an older one (4070) 😄
