Back when we were using the xw6400 workstations I found that it was rare for their power supply to ever go out, and I got replacements from eBay, used, and not one of those ever went bad later.  I found that was the best way to go... and just checked for you.  There is one available for a reasonable cost plus shipping..... I'd grab that now.

I have used some atx supplies on a xw6400 however many models are not suitable due to their design you need one that has a single rail design with a true 650 watts of power and has a 8 pin aux CPU power connector

(i do not recommend using  a 4 to 8 adapter)

if you look at the xw6400 service manual power supply pinouts on page 157 you will see it is not fully atx compatible

dure to it using pin 20 as a ground pin and on atx this pin is unused however this ground pin actually makes no difference in the real world, so for our purposes you can consider the xw6400 power supply to be atx compatible
