Same problem, and my computer is by a month out of warranty. Any idea is welcome!
@BigMaras wrote:Hi,
The same situation on three computers WITHOUT rear fan.
After bios update to latest version (02.46 Rev.A) I reciving on every boot error 512-rear chassis fan not detected.
So, the problem is definitely with bios, anybody have similar problem?
My motherboard is being replaces, some time next week. Case closed!

Hi
I've contacted by HP Support yesterday. Was told that they try to avoid Mainboard swap. As an HP Partner, i was asked to send a few information (Build Order, Feature Bytes, screenshoot and Full HW logging).
I suppose, according to their question, that HP support Tool is no longer offering this 2.46 bios Upgrade while it's still on the Website.
I hope they will correct this and provide us a good bios in the next days.
Fortunately, this PC is on site and not sold to one of our customer.

For now HP replace for me two systemboard without any problem. Bios version 2.46 is still available on hp website lol
All my service ticket are not closed and escalated. Version of bios 2.45 is safe and everyone could updates to this version without any problem. The problem is only with version 2.46.
I will wait to end of next week and asked hp what about solution.

Hi BigMaras,
So they decided to give replacement motherboard rather than a free fan! for the BIOS issue.
That's good use of your Carepack!!
Hopefully they'll have version 2.47 up ont he web soon so we can all get passed this silly issue.
Thanks for keeping us updated.

Ok, It looks that HP find solutions. The problem was with bad bios file (version 2.46). First HP remove version 2.46 from website and today I saw new version 2.47. HP in this case automaticly closed my warranty ticket. Everything is ok with new file.
