So... I have an HP RP5700. Its a retired POS (Point Of Sale) Computer, it was made with windows XP and went from a personal computer, to a CNC controller, to a personal computer, and finally, laid to rest in a shelf after a mystery problem. I bought it off of the welding teacher, as he didn't want it anymore. The issues are as follows: No display. I've tried 2 VGA cables and 2 different monitors. 2: i was grabbing the air compressor for it (it was covered in bad tasting dust), and as soon as I get in the closet. It beeps. It beeped twice. It then proceeded to blink the red light on the front. I had also removed the CMOS about 5 minutes before the beeping started. Finally, 3: The emotionally & physically depressed disk drive (ODD), It tries to spin on power, I eject it so I can put NHRA Drag Racing 2 Limited Edition. Dear God its the worst sound i've ever heard. Its just grinding. I eventually get it opened by using a flathead screwdriver to PRY IT OPEN. It also didn't want to go back. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks-Wilder H

we need the specific number of beeps and blink codes

offhand, based on the age of the system i would start with replacing the cmos battery found on the motherboard

reading the HP documentation on this system might also prove useful

i would also read the HP troubleshooting guide (attached in pdf format) see appendix A for info on error codes
