Hello all. I had a question regarding the creation of both a raid array and volume. A short while back I was using an HP Proliant ML350P Gen8 server. That is no longer the case.

I had 6x 600GB SFF SAS drives in slots 1 thru 6. I decided that I was going to increase my storage and added 2x 2T 2.5" SAS drives. The server came equipped with a HP Smart Array P420i Controller. If my memory serves me right the 6x 600GB drives were setup as a Raid 5 array. After inserting the new 2x 2TB I went into what is called Intelligent Provisioning  (HPE Smart Storage Administrator) and configured those 2x 2TB individually as Raid 0. I was then able to see both those drives as seperate drives in VMWare ESXi.

Now when I add drives to my Z820 in pairs for example and try creating Raid 0 I require a minimum of two drives. In other words I cannot treat those two drives as individual enitites. I hope that I am explaining myself properly.
