the HP motherboard in your system uses a non standard power connection and MUST BE MATED TO THE NON STANDARD HP POWER SUPPLY if you look carefully at a picture of the ATX supply to HP board adapter you will see a large bulge in the wiring this is a small circuit board that adapts some of the atx lines to the non std HP voltage the motherboard requires
you can not use the custom HP supply with a "ATX" style motherboard as it lacks voltage outputs and the required amperage the ATX board requires
if you replace the motherboard with a STD ATX style board you must then use a matching ATX power supply

if the max power draw of the board with all components is under 150 watts you can use a pico 12v to 24 pin adapter
if over 150 watts, cooling becomes a major issue due to your enclosed space, you may have consider this
you should be able to use off the shelf power supplies in this model's case search using the existing measurements of the original power supply
yes, a 6pin to atx 24pin adapter for this model exists for those who already have a upgraded power supply on hand

Hi DGroves, i was planning on replacing the i5 6500 & HP MB with a 65w ryzen & associated motherboard, the adapter youve posted in the link is correct, but i need one with the connectors the otherway round, so a male 24 pin & female 6 pins, so i can use the HP PSU? is that possible, can you send a link to one?
