I have an XW4600 workstation which does not boot into OS. The following is displayed Pressing any key on the keyboard is useless. Confirm anybody whether it is dead and cannot be repaired.
Smart Card Authentication error on pre-boot screen.
Smart Card Reader Not Present next after attaching a smart card
Insert Smart Card next after trying with different CAs including Workstation Authentication Client Certificate loaded on to the smart card and booting
Invalid Smart Card and there is date like format in which the middle number increased from 00 in the beginning to 31 and it seems does change thereafter.
Any solution is appreciated.

the installed OS appears to be configured for a smart card authenticator that is now no longer installed as such the OS boot will not continue
therefor, installing a different smart card, will not work as the system knows it is not the original smart card, and will refuse to boot
you will need to reinstall the OS from scratch, and possibly replace the existing boot drive with a new/different drive if the current drive has encryption enabled

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of them but not use. However I took this machine to a PC repair shop here. They told the security chip needs to be replaced. I dont know what that is and how the old stopped working. The specialists replaced it and it is working ok with him. The person sent me screenshots of system info. It is matching.

Sorry I forgot to mention in my earlier posts. None of the F1 F9 F10 F11 F12 work. So could have installed OS in the drive or in another drive if the previous was encrypted. I removed the drive and installed in a second spare system. It booted up and when I checked TPM it is locked out with a password that I did not set. Before hanging like this the system when booting displayed F1 Accept F2 Reject. I pressed F1 several times it did not respond. When I pressed F2 the system went into this error mode. Anyway the PC specialist repaired it. But it cost me more than the system cost.
