HP Z4 G4 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

This RAID controller works fine in all of my Z4 workstations. Adaptec/Microsemi makes maxView Storage Manager software, which gives you a UI to manage the controller and attached drives; I use the app to monitor drive status periodically, that's about it. In Windows 10 systems, maxView requires username and password, which is just the Windows login credentials. Win 11, which leans heavily on making you use either a Microsoft account login or PIN, presents a different issue. I use a PIN on new Win 11 machines - which Adaptec/Microsemi support confirms will not work in logging into maxView. In conversations with Adaptec/Microsemi, they said my particular HBA 2100-414e/HPWS is a specific HP product, and they don't recommend using ANY of their OEM software with it - they say to contact HP for the correct software. Although maxView Storage Manager works just fine, perhaps it would be better to use an HP version of this app - which I could not find anywhere. Does anyone know if such a thing exists - and where to find it?

FWIW I configured the RAID1 array for this card from the system setup screens, pre-boot.

the information adaptec/microsemi provided is not really correct it lacks some important details

HP split into two separate companies a long time ago,

HP "INC" (this site) does not use current releases of storage manager, for this you need HP "ENTERPRISE" which makes servers that use storage manager

https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/softwaredetails?language=en_US&collectionId=MTX-a1953c549aa145b2

you can log into a win 11 OS using a Pin or a normal password depending on how you set the logon option

using the normal OS logon password will allow the storage manager software software to work

HPE uses the  Microsemi Storage software application, however they validate specific version/releases and usually only only include specific features, skipping some items that the microsemi version has

Thank you! This is exactly right. I downloaded the software and it installed without asking for any login options. When I run the executable (bin\ssaclient.exe) on Windows 11, it opens the UI normally. I do not find (as I did not on the Adaptec software) any way of having the program signal any performance/hardware issues with the array - which would be handy in preventing potential drive problems down the road.

I appreciate your help a great deal! The odds of me figuring out that there is an HP version of this software by myself are slim to none.
