Trying to flip a ThinClient T640 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI using a task sequence, in preparation for large scale deployment. My understanding is that I need to apply the appropriate BIOS settings then partition the disk/SSD for UEFI. Problem is when I switch the PXE Option ROMs setting from Legacy PXE to UEFI, change Legacy Support to Disable, change Secure Boot to Enable, reboot the device, then there is no SSD showing in the UEFI Boot Sources.
The next task sequence step to partition the disk to UEFI therefore gives an 800704090 error as I suspect it cannot find the SSD.
So looks to me as if the SSD needs partitioned for UEFI before it will be seen in the UEFI Boot Sources list but can't run the task sequence step to partition the disk for UEFI as the device is not visible.
There is no AHCI/SATA setting in the BIOS for these devices.
Can anyone suggest a way around this chicken and egg problem as the switch to UEFI needs to be fully automated/hands-free ?
