My HP Z2 Mini G9 workstation died a couple weeks ago. Going through support they set me up to schedule on-site service. After 2 weeks, I was told the service company had finally received the part but they were having trouble finding someone to install it. I asked them to send me the new system board and finally they did.
I installed it with no issues but then started receiving an error on boot "System is booting in Manufacturing Program Mode. Warning: Your system is not fully configured. Please contact HP customer support". If I go past the error, the system boots to Windows just fine.
Chatting with customer support, they gave me instructions to enter the chassis serial number, feature byte and build id. I followed the instructions and it accepted the information but I still get the same error. I chatted with them again this morning and they want to go back to scheduling an engineer for on-site service.
I have an employee using an old piece of junk computer and can't wait another 2 weeks or longer. Any ideas how to get past this error or what I might have missed? I didn't intend this to be a rant. I just want to get it running again.
