T520 Thin Client
Linux

1.  The unit has an M.2 2242 SSD which is the short one.   Specs from 2014 say 64gb is the max.   Has anyone succeeded in putting a bigger one in, say a 128GB?

2.  The MB has another screw hole  behind the ssd lockdown screw which would appear to allow the use of longer M2 cards if you move the lockdown device  back farther.   Would this be for M.2 2260/80?  Can't find any documentation about using the longer cards.

Thanks!

the hp t520 can use 2240/2260 SATA based ssd's of any capacity (no NVME ssd's!!!)

if you remove the speaker you can install a 2280 sized ssd which is the most common form size, however you will have to fashion your own hold down for the screw mounting (i recommend nylon post/screw from a hardware store) and hot glue or silicone adhesive to mount the post

I put a Dogfish 128gb ssd/8gb ram  in and loaded Win 10 Pro 64 bit.  It seems to run fine for regular tasks.   Also populated the onboard USB slots with 2 32GB usb drives and loaded Linux Mint and Prime OS.   Usbs run slower but still not bad.
