Hello any and all....I have a Home network that includes 3 x t630 thin clients each with Win10Pro. Following HPs recommendation to update BIOS from M40_01.05 to M40_01.17, I rtried a Toolless update that did not work but left the system unable to Boot either into setup/bios or Apps as normal Tried every known combination of keys etc......but no joy. There appeared no active comms with screen: no error messages, warning lights or any indication of anything except on Power up, the power button light would show but would go out if the button was not released after 3 secs max. If released before 3 secs, the light would remain on as if in standby but no other activity evident. Of course difficult to tell with a fanless system and M2 sata disks but definitely no screen messages or activity.
I then pressed the CMOS button and shorted the pins for good measure; created a usb on another machine with the recovery file M40_0117.exe as instructed and loaded this and ran it trying to activate setup/bios entry - but no joy. I decided to let it run as I have read somewhere and eventually about 3 hours later, the screen did spring to life with a message that was too quick for me to read before it disappeared and the machine then started to blink a red light from the Start key. a continual succession of 2 blinks followed by a pause of 3 sec then back to 2 blinks, pause etc etc. This continued until I finally decided I'd watched the film long enough and stopped it.Ran it again- same result.
Turned my attention to another machine and repeated the process and lo and behold achieved exactly the same result! so now 2 broken machines with no Bios. Have tried different usb ports, downloaded files again to another different usb drive, checked cables, tried without disks just booting to recovery etc - lots of different thoughts about why the hell something so fundamental should be so complicated and hit and miss, requires 7 options and none work! What now.....
