we have approx. 500 HP T640 which are located over 96 sites all over the UK, I need to re-image these remotely, but on test find that they do not report back to HPDM and sit at processing stage, unless someone locally is able to log in. This is not possible as the re-imaging needs to take place outside of normal working hours, so there will not be someone to do this. Is there any way of getting the device to auto login at the end of the image cycle.

I understand this may not be easy for you, however HP recommends to setup Gateway & Child repositories nearest to the Thin clients to reduce these kinds of issues. While in Remote location the HPDM Agent may take time to report back, this could be influenced by the Internet and after waiting for some time the TC fails to report back.
Make sure the agent is updated before sending any other task and make sure to try the Cached image deploy option while sending the task and test it. If you still have issues, please reach out to the HP Thin client support team to check the HPDM Deployment and collect the logs from HPDM and Thin client to check for issues.
