Microsoft Windows 10 IOT

Hi everyone, I recently acquired a ThinClient T530 and it is not equipped with wifi or bluetooth. From what I gathered in the support documents I should use either an Intel AC 3168 or AC 8265, so other than the card and a couple of antennas I should be good, right? I would also ask if you can tip me on where to buy these items (eBay or similar?). Thanks in advance for your time, any help is appreciated.

t530 came with a 65W 19.5V 3.33A DC supply

The connector is similar in style to some of HP's other thin clients of this generation. It's a dual barrel plug with a centre pin. The outer of the barrel is 4.5mm with the inner being 3mm

  1. The outer barrel - (earth)
  2. The inner barrel - (+19V)
  3. A centre pin - ('smart pin')

to get a non-HP power unit to work with the t530/t630 HP thin clients add a high value resistor (300k - 330k) between the centre pin and the +19V supply jack on the motherboard (see pict)

WLan: t530 has a mPCIe connector adjacent to the M.2 connector

The January 2021 QuickSpecs lists either the AC 3168 or the AC 8265

There is a small knock-out on the rear panel and nearby a connector on the motherboard. The t530 documentation mentions three options for this rear port:

  • VGA video port
  • Serial port
  • External WiFi antenna connector

the M.2 socket on the t530, like the t620, supports the SATA interface

The board has mounting holes for 2242, 2260 and 2280 SSD sizes

RAM is a standard 260-pin DDR4 SODIMM. The AMD spec for the SOC says DDR4-1866

the one with the blue jumper on it (labelled PSWD) near the memory sodimm is to clear any set password. The usual HP procedure is to power off, remove the link, power up briefly, power off and replace the jumper.

Also there is 'CMOS' push button next to the M.2 SSD.
