HP Z2 Mini G5 Workstation RCTO Base Model

This very much could be the last time I purchase an HP Z workstations not becouse the workstations are bad, but becouse the after sales support is extremely bad!  Everytime I face technical problem with my Z workstation, HP support agents refuse to help and all they care about collecting my information and wasting my time without attempting to help me solve a basic problem!  Today I faced the worst case scenario and HP US support askes me to contact MENA support becouse I am currently overseas!  MENA support refuse to help me becouse I purchased my Z workstation from HP USA and askes me to contact them!!!!  No one is vent trying to help!

I will give it one last shot then I am done with HP: So after enabling Resizable BAR from the BIOS and restarting my computer (Z2 Mini G5) it stopped booting up without making any error sound! or showing any message!  I can see the computer is on but I can see nothing but black screen!  I can't even access the BIOS anymore to restore the factory default!  I even opened up the case and pressed the CMOS button but it didn't help!  Is it possible to break a PC just by enabling a feature from the BOIS??!!

Please help me restore my computer as I am overseas now and on the middle of very important project!

If your CMOS settings got corrupted it may take more than pressing the CMOS reset button to clear that and get back to the factory default BIOS settings. You need to unplug the power supply and remove the CMOS battery, then press and hold (for about 15 seconds each time) the CMOS reset button and press and hold (15 seconds each time) the power-on button several times back and forth to drain the capacitors that can prevent a full clear of CMOS. Then replace the CMOS battery, reattach the power supply, and hopefully it comes back to life when you power on. You'll need to reset date and time if you succeed.

I found your technical manual here: Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

Search in that for RTC (or RTC battery)

That sounds like a really bad experience.

Thank you very much for your feedback .. I highly appreciate it.

The hardest part is removing the CMOS battery as I must remove the whole motherboard from the tinny case which is very hard and time consuming especially at my age and the last time I did that was 23 years ago.. but I guess I have no other choice 😔

Unfortunately I did not find the technical manual in the link you sent however I found this in YouTube and I guess it will help me remove the motherboard and CMOS battery

This process should take me at least 3 to 4 hours to complete and I don't mind doing it as loong the problem will get fixed 😢

After about 2 hours of disassembling the HP Z2 Mini G5 until I managed to remove the CMOS battery and kept it out of the motherboard for around 2 hours and during that time I was pressing and holding the CMOS reset button for 30 seconds while holding the power switch and repeated that almost 20 times during that 2 hours.  Then it took me around 2 hours to put the computer back together, plugged in the power cord and turned it on but unfortunately the problem was not solved 😭

Why HP allows a feature in the BIOS that once enabled it bricks the computer instantly?!!  And this is a workstation class computer not just ordinary PC so such think should never happen!!

I cant stop thinking that HP did that in purpose to force people buy new computers!

Any more ideas?  Anyone please?
