Model : HP Compaq Pro 600 SFF

SN: SGH343QLS3

Spec : - Intel Core i7-3770 CPU
- 4GB + 4GB DDR3 1600MHZ Ram
-Intel HD Graphics

-Windows 11 PRO

Downloaded Link for HP Desktop Driver : https://support.hp.com/my-en/drivers/hp-compaq-pro-6300-small-form-factor-pc/5232881

Management Engine Current Version : 8.1.31.1351
Latest ME Ver in Download Link : 8.1.72.3002 Rev A

Not sure what im doing wrong i've updated the BIOS to the latest which is ver 3.08 and still unable to update the driver for this ME. The reason i want to update it is because it receives this error during boot .

2234-HECI ERROR DURING INITIALIZATION

Still boot into windows just need to press F1 everytime to continue. Temporary solution i found on the web is to change the jumper cable on the Motherboard which disable intel AMT in BIOS hence the error no longer pop up.

 - Temporary solutions
-But i'm still unable to update the management engine

-My Office have multiple of this desktop model but only this particular unit is facing this error. What's the root cause of this error popping up ?

your HECI ERROR DURING INITIALIZATION is most likely related to your management engine having  corrupted  firmware

if you can get read/write access to the ME region of the SPI/BIOS chip via the hardware jumper on the motherboard to enable R/W access to ME, ...................dump the entire SPI chip via “fptw64 -d spi.bin”

since you failed to state which specific  Pro 6000 model you have (G1-G5) i cant say if your board has this jumper or where it is on your motherboard download the HP service manual for your specific model to locate the ME override jumper it should be a 3 pin header

then read/follow directions in this link:

https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/guide-clean-dumped-intel-engine-cs-me-cs-txe-regions-with-data-ini...

in order to generate a clean/repaired “outimage.bin” image which can be flashed back via “fptw64 -f outimage.bin” followed by “fptw64 -greset”. If the problem was at the ME firmware, it should be fixed after the reboot.

I've been reading the step by step link you gave me and i don't even know how to start at a loss haha.

Also the video solution that you gave me is the one I currently am applying for the temporary solution for my user in the office. I will try my best to repair the firmware image and update you again thanks a lot

Hi, @DGroves

The only model it could be is a HP 6300 Pro with that BIOS version and processor.

Hi, @Hafozx2

I've never messed with the actual IMEI firmware updates and my recommendation to you would be to leave well enough alone with the jumper workaround.

There is a firmware update tool on your PC's support page under the Windows 8.1 driver section.

I have no clue how to use it, so I can't help you with that.

The latest IMEI driver available is this one for W8.1:

Hi Thanks for the reply,

I've tried updating the IMEI 1st before updating the ME FW but i receive this error & after every reset I've done a few below in BIOS :

- Tried disabling AMT

-Tried Enabling Virtualization

-Change the Jumper Pin from PSWD to FDO to update the ME

-Tried looking into device manager to completely remove the initial IMEI but its not there
-Tried clearing CMOS also same error come out

-Set BIOS to Default setting also no luck

Hope you can advice thanks for the assist
Sincerely ,

Hafiz

at this point your best course is to consider a replacement motherboard or a newer used system both are reasonable priced on eBay

newer win 11 compatible systems that have 8th gen cpu (or newer) and TPM 2.0 are what should now be considered if replacing hardware
