I purchased HP USB-C Dock G5 and connected to the HP Pavilion x360 - 14-cd0053tx Laptop. The laptop is running on Windows 11 version 22H2 version and has USB C port. As per the HP specifications, HP USB-C Dock G5 is a universal dock and compatible with HP and non-HP laptops.
When I connected the HP USB-C Dock G5, I came across two issues:
1. Laptop is not getting charged using the c type input from dock
2. I am trying to extend the screen using DP cable and HDMI cable to two of my monitors, but there is no response to monitor from the Dock.
In terms of pros -
1. USB ports on the dock are working fine
2. Network cable connected to Dock and it works fine
Could somebody help me with resolution on above issues related to laptop charging and screen extension?
Regards,
YW

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06033262
Your machine ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to
- Charge your machine,
- Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)
It is NOT compatible with the HP USB-C G5 dock.
Regards.
