HP EliteDesk 800 35W G3 Base Model Desktop Mini PC

Product Name: Hp elitedesk 800 g3 mini 35w

OS: Windows 10 22H2 build 19045.5247

as shown in the photo the device instance path ACPI\HPIC0000C\2&DABA3FF&0 doesn't have an assigned driver.

The device from a web search seems to be the critical driver of Hp Application Driver.

The computer is in safe mode because when booting normally I get an error from bootmgr and the error is "0x00000e a required device is not connected or can not be accessed"

Safe mode works so I used safe mode for this

Does anyone have the driver I need? (or know how I can safely download it)

I did see that thread but I didn't know if the driver was universal. I'll try when I get home

I did do that but I still get error 0x00000e at boot.

 

Something to mention is that I did accidently rip the speaker off the board and device manager shows error 31 for all speakers except for intel audio. My guess at why safe mode works is because it disables the audio drivers

 

edit: same error with hyper-v drivers but that's probably from settings in the bios and windows

I've already tried most of those, I'll finish doing something on my mac and then I'll do that (I only have one 16gb usb) and also I did accidentally snap the speaker of of the pads (the pads are fine but I don't own a soldering iron)

 

could the speakers prevent boot?

The speaker lead being broken should not interfere with the PC booting.  If you do not wish to go thru all of the steps, or none of them work for fixing the problem, reinstall Windows.  Using the media made from Microsoft, the first step in the guide under - 2. Run a system check

Create and insert Windows 10 bootable media on your PC. You can easily do that here:

Create installation media for Windows - Microsoft Support

Follow the directions for either Windows version, but pick the version already installed.  When the media has been created, change to boot order to boot to this new media. If that step is causing a problem, follow this:

Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.

Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Boot Menu from that popup menu, F9.

Then pick the USB drive

Assuming the USB flash drive is booted you will see the opening screen

Click next - lower right corner.  Then this should show up

From this screen either pick "Repair this computer" in the lower left, for the tools, or click "Install now" from the center.

update: I had already tried that before asking but let me say what I've found out:

1. The installation is fine because it boots when plugged into my laptop

2. it still occurred on my computer after uninstalling the steam audio drivers

3. The computer no longer boots to the bios after modifying the settings to make it more like the laptop (disabled secure boot and also fast boot and enabled audio device but disabled in-built speaker) (maybe the cpu died but I don't know)

4. only a cursor at boot even if no drive is connected

5. can't be a software issue

6. virtualization doesn't work with error 31 if I remember correctly (virtualization was disabled in the bios but I believe it still occurred before I disabled it)

 

What should I do?

As your testing seems to prove, the Windows install is working.  Therefore most likely a hardware problem.

Since the PC will try to boot without the drive present, try the advice I usually give when there are problems.

Try running the Diagnostics routine.

 

To run the Diagnostics routine, Start tapping the Esc key BEFORE starting the PC and then press the start button.

Keep tapping the Esc key until a popup menu shows. Then pick Diagnostics from that popup menu, F2.

Report back with the results.  This should report that the drive did not pass but the rest of the PC is also tested.  This, in theory, will report a hardware problem.  Good luck.

no like the computer doesn't boot to the boot menu at all, I've tried booting to diagnosis mode by removing the drive but it failed and just showed the cursor. Did the cpu die?? but how? I know the thermal paste wasn't properly applied but the cpu should have shut off before damage was done, right? what should I do? It won't boot at all to anything, I don't have a spare cpu to test
