I want to install Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 2TB.

1. How do I know what adapter I need?

2. Will it be supported?

Thanks

think about it,............................ a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 2TB??

what would it use hmmmmmm perhaps a M.2 adapter

questions like this that can easily be found/answered using a search engine like google suggests you really haven't put any effort into trying to answer this yourself

is it supported?, again taking the time to look for previous posts related to "z440 SSD" using this sites search feature  or just googling will answer your question

the SSD model you are looking at is a PCI-E x4 M.2  "280mm in length" item,  so look for a PCI-E x4 M.2 adapter and as usual you get what you pay for,  those cheap no name ebay chinese adapters may work fine or they may not..........it's recommended that people who can't tell the difference between a well made item and crap  ones stick with name brand items as most name brands care about their reputation and therefor will not sell poorly designed/made products

Actually, I put a lot of effort of searching (about a week now) and thought about it a lot, and because ambiguous information on the subject I need a concrete answers from people with experience, this is what this forum is about.

I do understand that I need M.2 adapter obviously, just asking which, because there are many and as you said, a lot of cheap ones and I am looking for something reliable that will not affect data transfer.

Regarding compatibility, again, a very legit question - motherboards might not support disk data capacity and I had that in the past. So after long degrading answer you wrote, I still don't have an answer to my questions unfortunately.

my reply was based on what you wrote in the original post not what you were thinking it's not my fault you did not clearly describe you question like you did in your second post

next, if there was a hardware issue regarding drive capacity limitation issues on the z440 you would have found quite a few previous posts on this subject in this forum and on the internet, and also in the HP z440 documentation

next.,.... regarding what m.2 adapter to use all i can do is give general recommendations............as it's up to you to decide which one suits your needs/price range it's for not me or any other forum user to do this as you need make the final decision on what to look for in your choosing a adapter all i can reasonably give you is my personal advice which i did

if you want to ask if anyone has used a specific m.2 adapter,.........that's something worthwhile asking just don't expect me or others to decide for you
