First things first, my unit haven't shipped yet, so I can only do assumptions based on information available via searching.
I am investigating the possibility of replacing the dGPU of a Z2 mini G4 performance unit.
HP's service video clearly shows that the device comes with a MXM card.
Based on the service manual, it seem that the connector is of a MXM 3.0a specification, due to the length of the card shorter than it is wide.
It seem that the options are quite limited for the "a" form factor, the connector is limited to 55w power consumption.
Can anyone provide accurate information on this? And is there a recommendation for a CUDA capalca card, or is the P1000 the best of the bunch? My unit was ordered with a WX4150, is it possible for me to order a single P1000?
Also, is the unit's thunderbolt module a full x4 or a bandwidth reduced version? I may be able to get an external card if the MXM options are limited.

This is a series of many machines with different configurations/options therefore some machines may not have MXM slot at all. Please check the folliwing specs

Even same physical sizes but there are two different system boards or mother boards. The specs only says for performance option, machine already has NVIDIA or AMD video card but for Basic option, no MXM slot.
Regards.

My device is a Z2 mini G4 Performance unit, it's not yet delivered but I know that it has a MXM slotted WX4150
My main problems are
1. Is it a 3.0a or 3.0b standard? I may have ordered the wrong option since I'll probably need CUDA cards for the future.
2. If it's 3.0a standard, then can I order a single P1000 kit from HP or parts resellers?

based on AMD's listing of a 45 watt limit for this card i suspect it's a 3.0a (small form factor) sized card
dell also uses this card in some models of their Dell Mobile Precision Workstations
