I am looking for a solution to mount a monitor vertically. I work in the tax field and being able to see the whole page without scrolling significantly reduces my work time. The current monitor does not have a rotating mount on the back and I am wondering if there is another product that I can attach the monitor to inorder to accomplish this. Additionally the monitor does not have 'holes' on the back for easy attachment to an off brand mount, only at the base of the monitor where the current stand connects.

Go to:
HP M27h FHD Monitor | HP® US Official Store
Down at the bottom HP says in the Q/A section that no it can't be done. That does not mean some other company has not found a solution, so also search for your monitor's true exact model number plus VESA mount. That monitor's proprietary stand attachment is low, so center of gravity would be way off if it was rotated to portrait orientation. It's EDID signals might not even allow rotating to upright but I doubt that.
I like the MultiSync pro models from NEC for pro level home use, but if you're in an office you probably don't have much say over such purchases. Those can be found inexpensive on eBay used. Pros dump their monitors before they're worn out and move on the next great thingy. Those ones take standard VESA mounts perfectly balanced in landscape or portrait orientation. I'd rather have two of those in portrait than one crippled wide flat landscape monitor. This approach lets you angle both to yourself for best ergonomics. You can get those with LED or pre-LED backlights... both fine. Take a look at MultiSync LCD2490WUXi just for perspective on eBay. There are later variants... but these backlights are lasting for a very long time here.
