Good morning,
how do i set wake on lan mode on a HP ProDesk 400 G1 MT? I can't find the wake on lan entry in the BIOS.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Luca

This forum has a search feature.... type in Wake on LAN and hit Enter.
It is complex and there are specific BIOS settings that need to be set properly, posted about. There also are settings in the control software for the network interface adapter. Of interest, in the HP workstations that have two network adapters they are not identical. For the ZX20 generation the Z420 only has one adapter but the Z620 has two. The Z420's single adapter is the AMT type and you want to use the AMT type on a Z620 too.
HP came out with a short advisory that addresses this issue which I have attached as a PDF below... but you need more than that.
The PDF includes a registry modification from HP, and also a directive to turn off a defaulted-on "feature" of W10 (Fast Startup) that I have posted about here as being the cause of significant trouble for us until I figured out it was the cause of our expensive medical monitors losing their control software functionality. I turn that off on all W10 builds now.

Added perspective... WOL is inherently an energy waster vs having it turned off. You'll note that a number of the changes that you discover here in the forum have to do with turning off energy saving features in BIOS and the network adapter control software. W10 has its own energy saving settings.
This will be quite a project for you... make sure you really need WOL. Once you figure out all the details you may wish to post back here a HowTo for your HP workstation. Things vary somewhat depending on the type, but there are common settings to get right for all types too.
Getting your technical and service manual should help in finding WOL in BIOS for your BIOS type... make sure to upgrade your BIOS to the latest, and read up on updating BIOS from within BIOS for safety, especially since you are running W10.
