Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Z2 SFF G5 workstation does not have internal DVDRW, but I'd like to buy the option part kit 4L5J9AA, which seems to be the correct part number.  I don't know if I would also need any additional parts.

simple google search, using your supplied kit number, was/is there a reason preventing you from doing this simple search?

same kit is also used in many other models besides the Z2 G5 SFF

the optical drive is a normal laptop style 9.5mm SATA unit

"Simple search" - step off.

Past experience with proprietary parts, and they go so far as to list an Option Kit Part Number.

You might enjoy sourcing parts from multiple sites - which leaves compatibility in question.

So thanks for the links, anyway.

you were give a DIRECT LINK TO THE OFFICIAL HP KIT which is available on newegg and so is the power adapter and dvd burner i just did not feel like searching for it

you were also given the links to the STANDARD SATA DVD BURNER,  nothing proprietary here, both the optical drive and it's sata interface are standard parts, nothing unique about them same for the power connector it's a standard part that's the same one included in the HP kit

I already did review the manufacturer's documentation and had the "option part kit".  It was not available from HP Store, nor did it describe what was included in that part number.  I had also Google-searched and found the usual suspects, with no better info.  The search did identify Provantage LLC of Mira Loma, CA as a potential source for the drive.  Their site did not identify the parts included, but when the drive order arrived yesterday, it was an official HP option part kit, with drive as well as the attachment clip (not green as in HP pictures) and the SATA data cable.  The power feed was already in the Z2 SFF G5 case.  Price was reasonable for a new drive, and the box included installation directions for either my case or a tower.  I'd recommend this solution, but be aware that the blue retaining clip will leave the drive recessed about 3-4mm from the bezel face.  Not serious, but that's up to you.
