Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP 8200 Elite CMTPC tower that I purchased used in 2014 ,and at that time a installed a 256GB SDD drive and 32 GB memory. I am running windows 10.

My primary use of the computer is doing Tax returns and support a small business which includes a lot of internet use, I am using both Chrome and Microsoft  Edge.

I am running Open Office for Excell and word functions.

I am not having any current issues except for sometimes a fell the computer is slow.

I am concerned about the age, the PC was 5 years old and it prior use was business office environment.

So now it going on 24-25 years old.

Should I replace it??

Any recommendations?

I started looking at refurbished HP Z2 G5 workstations --- would that be a good fit??

I prefer to stay in the business desktop environment, I do not like the  "Home PC Market".

Thank You

You're very welcome.

Our company also used the HP dc7xxx/Elite 8xxx model desktops, and I really liked them, so when I was in the mood to buy a new PC, I bought the 8200 Elite from HP.  I think I paid $1,100 for it.

I've been using it ever since.

I was going to buy a new 600 G9 for my wife because no matter what I did, I could not get her PC (a Dell Optiplex 7020 MT) to do an in-place upgrade to W11.

I moved all of my PC's to W11 since Microsoft is ending support for W10 in October of 2025.

I didn't want to have to do a clean install and reinstall all of her programs and files.

So, I figured if I have to go through that trouble, I would buy a fully supported W11 PC instead of having to run the annual workaround to install the latest W11 builds that come out every October.

But I managed to find this recent video and for some crazy reason it allowed me to do an in-place upgrade to W11 on her Dell, so now I have no need to buy a new PC when the ones I have work perfectly fine.

I'm still using the 8200 Elite CMT I purchased new from HP in 2011 when it first came out.

I'm running W11 Pro on mine--i7-2600, 32 GB of memory, 2.5" SATA SSD.

It has been my only new HP business desktop purchase.

I prefer to buy HP and Dell business PC's in used but tested and working condition on eBay.

I have two recommendations for new HP business desktops for you to look into:

The HP Z2 G9:

Z2 Tower Workstation - High Performance Desktop PC | HP® Official Site

The HP 600 G9:  I'd say the Elite Tower 600 is the current version of the 8200 Elite.

Thank you for your reply.

Yes I also purchase my computers from Ebay always refurbished units, never bought used.

Now looking for differences between G5 and G9 and Z2 Series vs Elite 600.

Just some more background.

When I retired in 2015 my company had been using the 8200 Elite CMT computers (probably bout 2500 computers through all offices) they were "end of life" but I knew from my experience they were great units.  They were auctioned off on a large pallet for little $$. I am sure the company purchased them did a quick refurb. and sold them individually. That when I saw them on ebay and purchased one.  Still using it today.
