HP Z600 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Z600. I recently switched out my previous 2x Xeon E5506 which were 4 Core 4 Thread CPUs.

I switched them out for 2x Xeon x5650, which are 6 Core 12 thread CPUs. However in my task manager, device manager, Core Temp, etc., It only shows that I have a total of 12 cores and 12 threads, which is incorrect as it should say 24 threads. image.png

Previously hyperthreading was disabled when using my previous CPUs in the BIOS, but I have since enabled hyperthreading in the BIOS but it hasn't changed anything.

I have also checked msconfig and nothing is checked in the BOOT Advanced Options.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to enable all of the threads?

Yea, I have had the same thing happen.   It is due to windows not noticing the number of threads have increased.  There are two ways to fix it.  Try 2 first then 1.

(1) Bring up the device manager and expand the processor list and delete all 8 of the cores.  This is a PITA as you have to not reboot until all 8 cores are uninstalled.

(2) Disable hyperthreading in the BIOS, reboot, then enabled hyperthreading and reboot.

Thank you! The 1st solution you listed fixed my issue.

For others... don't forget that Windows 10 Home only recognizes one processor even if the Hyperthreading option is enabled in BIOS.
