HP Recommended

HP recommended to me to use the method in the link I had posted earlier, i.e. https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/3086249/we-couldn-t-update-system-reserved-partition-error-..., which worked again.

 

However, I have asked if they could provide a HP-supported method to increase the size of the reserved partition, i.e. so that this problem does not reoccur and my warranty still stands. Hopefully they'll get back with an acceptable answer.
