Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

We have 4 x HP Z220 (1 x I7 3770 and 3 x Xeon 1220 v2)

Each system had 4 x 2GB memory sticks and I ordered 2 x 8GB for each system. The I7 and one of the Xeons works fine with the new 8GB sticks, but the other 2 Xeons beep 5 times when the sticks are fitted, but work perfectly fine with the original 2GB sticks!

I am not looking to mix and match the 8GB and 2GB modules.

All systems are running the latest firmware v1.87.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Mark

@nonamenone68 -- Does anyone have any ideas?

Take a magnifying-glass, and check the "REV" ("revision") levels of all the motherboards, by reading the fine-print silk-screening on each board.  All the same, or not?

Are all the sticks of RAM (both the "original" and the "new")  labelled "1R8" or "2R8", or is there a mixture?

is the ram registered? and if so is it buffered or unbuffered?

the officially supported ram for this system is NON-ECC • Unbuffered DIMMs

DDR3-1600 • CL=11 • NON-ECC • UDIMM • 240-pin • 1.35V • 2Rx8 • PC3-12800

The processor determines what type of memory is supported on the HP Z220. Please see Figure 1 for a complete list of
processors and memory support.

ECC is supported on Unbuffered ECC DIMMs  (if the cpu supports it)

read the linked pdf, note the section listing ecc/non-ecc support for the listed cpu's
