was looking for a stronger PSU for the Z220.
Found the HP Z420 PSU to be quite equal to the HP Z220 PSU with the same 18-pin mainboard connector.
Just the 4-pin P3 CPU power connector of the HP Z220 PSU is missing on the Z420 PSU.
Instead there is another output of one 8-pin P2 connector.
Did anyone use the Z420 PSU for the Z220 and knows how it works?
Which connector can I use to supply the 4-pin CPU MB connection (12VCPU) of the Z220?
Can you help me with the P2 connector pinout of the Z420 PSU?

For the CPU Power supply of the HP Z220 (4-pin) you can use the P2 connector of the Z420 PSU (8 pin).
The 8 pinouts are Standard EPS 12V connector (pin 1...4 = GND, pin 5+6 = 12V1, pin 7+8 = 12 V2, V1/V2 both with max 18 A).
I used an adapter to extend the short P2 cable and to connect to the 4 pin socket.
And finally it worked.
The Power Supply Upgrade of the HP Z220 to a stronger PSU with 600 W finally worked.
