Hi,
I have purchased two RTX 3090 GPU's at a good price and wish to purchase either a Z4 / Z6 / Z8 (Xeon), basically, I just want to know which one is better and does the RTX 3090Ti fit in them.
Basically they'll be used dealing with unique video projects therefore need a workhorse like my old Z800, Z820 and Z840.
Can someone confirm please.
Regards.
Andrew

these workstations have a wide range of options and the required pci-e /power supply requirements depend on the exact system config you will be using also note for video usage do your software packages work best with higher freq or more cores?
the nvidia 3090ti is a 285 watt card
look at the published HP quickspecs for approved video cards of each HP model and pick the lowest video card in the list then simply do a web search on google for nvidia (or AMD) "model number" wattage and compare. as long as your card does not exceed the wattage of what the fastest HP approved card draws your good power wise
(check if your specific config requires a power supply upgrade to a higher wattage one)
example google search: nvidia 3090 ti wattage
example Z8 G4 model:
https://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c05527763.pdf
page 3: Choice of 1125W or 1450W, 90% Efficient Power Supplies, (or 1700 watt supply)
note that some HP models have optional upgraded power supplies that become "required" supplies when a high wattage video card (and/or dual cpu's), are installed. this information is usually listed in the HP quickspecs of each model workstation
page 13:
NVIDIA® RTX A6000 48GB Graphics (300 watt card)
page: 29 lists some factory configs that show video/pwr/cpu/ram
also sec cpu option enables/upgrades pci-e slot config
then do the same for the physical dimensions of the HP card vs your card
