Product: HP Z4 G4 Workstation
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I have installed the inexpensive motherboard-connected Intel Wifi LAN/Bluetooth cards with the little backplane panels to which antennas are attached. Recently I put one in a Z2 G4, no issues. Now I have another Z4 G4, and a brief look at the motherboard shows no MB sockets for the Wifi card, as well as the published specs showing that the correct Wifi card is Intel 8265 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth PCIe WLAN, which is the same thing, but takes up a backplane slot. I am configuring a Xeon-based Z4 G4, and it looks like there is plenty of space for a MB-connected LAN card. I wonder why HP left this out of the larger MB?
