Hi,

I have z440, needs to install front fan the required model is QUR0912VH P/N 647113-001, But I have fan with same model with different P/N number QUR0912VH P/N 468763-001 can I use it. Both have same current capacity 0.60A and size.

Or can any one explain P/N numbering.

Thanks

in this case yes you can use either of the two fan numbers you listed

fan model numbers such as you have posted will differ mostly because the "OEM"  (hp in this case) has taken the fan makers base model "QUR0912VH  made some changes to it which can range from fan speed to cable length this part is now assigned a HP part number or even several HP part numbers depending on which HP division is listing it

example:

the original HP number may be different from the HP spares number and the HP fan kit may again use a different number for the same fan

broadly speaking, as long as the first part of the fan model number matches you can usually swap/use fans which only differ in the last part of the numbers

example:

base fan number: Delta  "QUR0912VH " Fan is available in 2/3/4 wire configurations with the ending numbers specifying the pins used 2 wire = no speed control and 4 wire = PWM

P/N 647113-001 is made specifically for the z800/z820/z840/z440 meaning the fan speed and wire length will fit/work in thes models
