Z420 iaStorA.sys BSOD issue

Hello,

I have experienced BSOD errors caused by iaStorA.sys recently (Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart; StopCode: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL; What failed: iaStorA.sys).

I am slightly confused:

- The current iaStorA.sys driver version is 4.3.0.1542

- The available iaStorA.sys driver (in the driver download page) is version 4.3.0.1198

- The HPSBHF03633 rev.1 - Intel Rapid Storage Technology(RSTe) Driver Installer Vulnerability document recommends installer (Setup.exe) version 4.7.0.1119 or newer.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the RSTe (enterprise) series of chipset storage drivers do have documentation that lists which chipsets they support

and the 4.3.0.1198 series revision (SP98397) has been tested by HP and approved by them for win 10  however you can use up to v4.6.0.1085. note that anything later no longer has support for the z420's c602 chipset

i personally recommend version 4.5.1234 WHQL from station-drivers "dot" com which has official intel win 10 support

for the z440's c612 chipset use 4.7.0.2072  SP96420

I kindly ask you for more clarification:

1. I downloaded SP98397.exe (Version 4.3.0.1198). However, there was no setuprst.exe. I downloaded a recent setuprst.exe from the Intel page but got a message that it is not compatible with my system. I do not know which setuprst.exe is right for my system and how to obtain it.

2. I tried station-drivers "dot" com but obtained no search results for the "4.5.1234 WHQL" or "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Version 4.5.1234 WHQL" keywords. What am I missing?

3. You mentioned "z440's c612 chipset use 4.7.0.2072 SP96420". Is it applicable for my C420 with C600/X79 series chipset?

the HP RSTe driver being a OEM version does not come with the GUI application as HP elected to only use the RSTE driver itself and is installed manually as it's in the "INF" format
