Workstation Z440
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys

I cant seem to find any info regarding BIOS configuration for the Z440.

Ive updated the BIOS to 2.47 Rev.A

Ive installed a Z-Turbo Drive with a Samsung 960 EVO drive.

Ive installed Wondows 10.

It all works, but Im not sure if the BIOS is properly configurated.

Greetings

the stock mfgr bios defaults are fine/best for 99% of the users and should not be changed from the defaults

the only options you may want to change are

1. boot from network card, disable this as it will speed up boot time and increase free rom space

2. if you do not boot from a device attached to the LSI ports disable boot rom for onboard LSI SAS/SATA chip, disabling the bios of this LSI chip will decrease boot time and still leave any devices attached to the LSI ports working under windows (do not disable the LSI chip!!! only disable the chip's boot rom)

no other options should be changed, and make sure the intel AMT option remains disabled as it is only useful in corporate domain usage (it allows remote access to your system even if powered down)

Is that what is called "PXE Internal NIC boot"?

HP Recommended

yes, PXE is a protocall for booting a system over the network card
