I have an HP Z600 with 24gb of RAM it had dual 5647 and changed them to dual 5650. It’s been working fine until I tried to upgrade to CPUs to dual 5675. Now it won’t turn on. No fans, no beeps one led flash for the split second I push the button and if I hold the button the green led says on, then I let go and led turns off and nothing happens. The network ethernet LED are flashing, but nothing else. No bios, no screen, no fans, no beep? Is it the CPUs? Did my PSU just die? Did my mother board die? Should I put the 5650 back?

if you did not damage the cpu pins or receive a bad 5675 cpu you might have a rev 1 motherboard
(depending on tolerances some/few rev 1 boards did work with 56xx cpu's)
for the 56xx cpu's you really need a rev 2 board that has official support
How do I check to see if my HP Z600 is a V1 or V2?
if the system boots, check bios Boot Block Date if 01/30/09 board is rev 1, if later it's a rev 2
if system does not boot
- ** Open your side panel and check your system board PN.*
- Version 1 has system board PN: 461439-001 (460840-002)
- Version 2 has system board PN: 591184-001 (460864-003)
replacement rev 2 boards are rather cheap on ebay
