Z620 - Onboard network adapter slow speed.
When I do speed test, I only half of 1Gb . Z620 has Intel 82579LM . Does this mean it is dying being too old?
The speed on my Lenovo laptop works alright.
Please advise
Thanks

The tests were performed with Okla speed test app installed on the computers. HP Z620 is running Win 10 Pro 22H2 and network card driver version is 12.17.10.8 . The other is Lenovo Laptop T480 running Win 11 Pro which does show ~ 1Gb download speed with the app. HP z620 only show ~ 500Mbps download speed. The upload speed stays mostly at 45Mbps which the max modem supports so upload speed test is good it's the download speed which is the problem here.
The ISP speed is 1G/350M. Both of these computers are connected to the same 8 port un-managed Linksys switch using Cat6 ethernet cables. The switch connects to another similar switch from there it connects to Synology router.

what are the actual numbers for each system?
do note that MBps is not the same as Mbps, the difference is important
That little b or capital B makes all the difference. Mbps means megabits per second, and MBps means megabytes per second. To convert MBps to Mbps, you just multiply by 8, so 1MBps equals 8Mbps.
is the Okla speed test connecting exactly the same or is it using a different server/routing?
have you taken the laptop and connected it to the z620 cat6 cable (and vice versa) what were the numbers?
what are the z620's network card settings? IE- full or half duplex? large packet on or off?
