Z620 V2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I´m a very happy owner of a Z620 V2 unit with an E5-2667v2, 64GB RAM, RTX2080 and a total of 2TB SSD storage.

I´m using it for basically everything: Music production, gaming, graphics editing, video editing, CAE, etc. However, it would like to have even more power and I´ve started to add another E5-2667v2 by installing the riser.

Question: Will adding a riser and another CPU increase the idle noise levels? Today, the unit is barely audible, even under load, sitting under the desk next to plenty of acoustic room treatment.

trying to anser this question depends on several factors, how you use the system the type of cpu being installed, the ambient air tempture, the total thermal wattage of the installed cards the location of the rear exaust, and so on

adding a second cpu will increase the thermal load, but will not increase the "IDLE" temps as the cpu is usually in a low power state. however you may see a increase in fan speeds during your usage of the system depending on the cpu loads
