Realtek HD ALC221 integrated audio
Windows 11 Pro for Workstation (21H2)

Realtek r282 drivers installed.

Hi all!

Front and rear audio output jacks do not work.
Device manager doesn't show any audio device.

I reboot my PC, run HP PC hardware diagnostics (UEFI) to test components and... audio works like a charm!!!!!

Obviously when Windows 11 starts up it does not recognize the Realtek integrated audio. It has simply disappeared, any help?

indeed, @kkkkkkkkj  if you even opened the bios, possible!
But a few questions!
It seems to me that you did not specify if the computer is new..

original maximum indicated here windows 10 , so existing problem before the installation of windows 11 if you made the upgrade ?
You mentioned I didn't pay attention the first time
Realtek r282 drivers installed. !
Device manager doesn't show any audio device.
and then you said
I had tried that version (HP support) and have noticed no difference with r282 from Realtek website.

If the driver is installed as you mentioned before, logically it should be visible from the device manager..
except nothing, but you do not indicate if there was an error message, or anything, suggesting that finally the driver is not installed?
So, giving a little more information might help to find something, if indeed everything is ok, in the bios

Hi,

I had tried that version (HP support) and have noticed no difference with r282 from Realtek website.

The problem beyond the drivers is that it does not detect the integrated audio.

Could it be disabled in the BIOS by mistake?

thanks

Many of the on-motherboard chipsets can be disabled in BIOS in the security section.... they are listed there and virtually all are enabled by default from the factory. Have you looked?

If you bought that used and someone else earlier had set that device to Disable because they wanted to use a PCIe sound card instead then it is possible it was never turned back on before you got it.  However, when devices are turned off that way they generally don't show up anymore in Device Manager.

Thanks @Prométhée

I bought my computer 3 years ago. Microsoft installation upgrade wizard told me my computer was ready and I made Windows 11 upgrade a couple of months ago. I'm not sure the problem existed before, sorry.

I said 'install driver', sorry I meant 'run the installation wizard with no errors and nothing happened'.

I'm not sure about BIOS configuration check or uncheck Audio Device and Internal speakers make no difference.

At first both were checked.

Thanks in advance

Check again 'Audio Device' in BIOS and 'Realtek High Definition Audio' is back. Thank you.
