Hello. I own two Z8 workstations and both have the same issue.

At first I thought it was a memory issue because I was getting BSOD and random freezes, so i chanced all the memory cards.

Then I thought it could be an BIOS update, so I rolled back to version 2.90 and it got better, but the problem is still there.

When rendering in 3d applications the cpu gets really hot (96-101 Cº) and whenever it goes over 100cº it freezes.

I tried everything, changing thermal past, inverting processors... nothing seems to work.

I would think it is a faulty processor, but since I have 2 machines with almost sabe specs and having same issue, I don't think that is the problem.

Is anyone else having that?

The only thing I could think of are the heatsinks... Do I need an upgrade? Anyone knows if i'm abble to install a liquid cooling in a Z8 workstation?

Z8 1:

2x Xeon Platinum 8168

384gb Ram (following the manual instructions for installation)

Quadro P6000

Z8 2:

2x Xeon Platinum 8180

384gb Ram

rtx 2080

Anybody? Any ideas?

I'm thinking about installing a asetek liquid cooler, the only problem is that I don't know if i can get both hoses from the cpu to the back. Anyone tried this already?

Thanks
