Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I own a Z800 and a Z820 workstation with Windows 10. TPM chip is active and shows version 1.2

Is there a way to update those to TPM 2.0, like existing for the Zx40 workstations?

Thanks

Michael

Hi:

Unfortunately there isn't.

If you were wanting to do that so you can upgrade the PCs to W11 even if you could upgrade the TPM 1.2 firmware to 2.0, none of the processors that work in the model series support W11.

If you're happy with your PC, watch this video for how to easily upgrade it from W10>W11:

How to Install Windows 11 25H2 on Unsupported PCs (New Easiest Method)

I'm running W11 25H2 on PC's that are as old as14 years old, and W11 works fine.

and just a noite while the z820 will run win 11 absolutely fine with modern/current software applications, the z800 is in my opinion borderline for win 11 and most current applications.  However for linux both systems still excel in terms of performance

the z820 is equivalent to a consumer x79 based system and the z800 the x58 platform

i've owned/serviced HP workstations from before the xw6000 days and still have a z820 sitting the corner and unless you require/need or just want a multi cpu/multicore system there are nowadays better 6/12,  8/16, 12/24  core used systems available on eBay for quite reasonable prices
