I'm working on a Z840, dual processor.
I've installed a Intel 670p NVMe drive on a Sabrent x16/x8/x4 card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084GDY2PW).
I reset the BIOS to factory defaults. When I boot into the BIOS, the NVMe is properly detected in Slot 5 (x8) (also tried it in both open x16 slots FYI), but is not seen in the UEFI boot list. I tried rebooting, moving the card, etc.
The system has dual processors, and the video card is installed in the x16 slot closest to the processors.
(I enabled PCIe training and early reset delay, as suggested elsewhere).
I thought that NVMe was fully supported on the Z840, i.e. that you didn't need to use the HP PCIe card, nor some whitelisted NVMe drive?
