HP ZBook 17 G6 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

Why would HP not honour its 3 year Onsite Mobile Workstation Hardware support (U61B5E) within two weeks of receiving the new Fury notebook, which appears to have a power issue, with the battery. The diagnostic reports that the battery may not be present, while it is clearly there. it would also not charge at all and when power supply is unplugged the unit switches off straight away. Let me know what I can do?

Regards Wim

This is not a reply, it is a correction as the first listing was not about ZBook 17 G6, but about my new ZBook Fury16 G10, which I received on the 30th of May 2025 and after opening and charging for 12 hours and then trying to start it failed and would not run on battery. So far HP has not acknowledged that the unit came with a 3 3 3 onsite service warranty, so the Fury can be checked and repaired if so needed.

I would expect that the warranty would at least last until March 2027, being 3 years after dated on my owners list, although I only bought it on the 27th of May 2025 as the G10 is old stock, bought through Ebay Australia with the seller located in Sydney, but I was the first one to open the box and try to start her up, which it will do being plugged into a powerpoint.

don't know about other countries, but here in the USA the law allows HP to state that their factory warranty only applies to products bought directly from HP or a HP authorized reseller....... products bought from non HP approved sellers provide their own warranty

also, HP factory refurbished products usually have a different warranty than their new products

sometimes a factory warranty may not be listed as such, in these cases you need to contact HP and provide the requested information they ask for in order to confirm you are eligible for the warranty

i recommend you use the HP warranty check web page to confirm if if your product is new and a HP product that has the full warranty  use google "hp laptop warranty check" to locate the HP check page relevant to your country
