HP pavilion -14-ce2500sa30
Microsoft Windows 11

I have been trying to get a docking station as i seem unable to connect my 2 screens to my laptop and show different items on all screens

i don't know of the laptop is un-compatible but i have looked it up and it says it should be able to do this.

i don't want screen mirroring, i want every screen to show a different item.

I currently have one screen connected to the laptop so the laptop and firstscreen show different things, however after purchasing another screen as i need bigger screens to work on and the laptop to use for showing emails etc i cannot seem to connect the new sceen (i have tried all sorts, various USB-C connectorsto HDMI, bought a docking station to connect through USB-C then realised the port on the HP laptop wasn't compatible)my company doesn't have an IT department and i am a bit at wits end as working from home is hard when you only have one big screen and a laptop (i work in accounts so always have at least 2 big screens on the go)

The laptop only has one HDMI port on it a USB-C and two USB ports

thank you for any help

most of HP's consumer lines of laptops (such as your pavillion) do not support traditional style docks

what they may be able to use is several alternatives to a std dock that are USB based

You have one of the newer USB-C ports but it is the data transfer only kind which means it does not carry a native video signal. The dock you use must have DisplayLink capability so it can use USB protocol for video instead of Alt-DP. It also cannot charge via USB-C so you will need to use your regular laptop AC adapter or a second one you purchase with the dock.

the HP USB-C dock G5 should also work

Unfortunately the less expensive docks use the native video signal from the Thunderbolt or Alt-DP USB-C port, and yours has neither of those so most of the less expensive docks will work with everything except the screen.

these may not work on your laptop (check with the mgr.'s of these products)
