Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am thinking of adding a gtx 1660 Super to a hp z230 workstation(tower 400w PSU)  with a core i7-4770 and 8gb ram 1 sata ssd and a 7.2k hardrive would use something like dual sata to 8pin adapter for the gtx 1660 Super work (I have a really low budget thank you very much for the help) or is there other ways to power the 1660 super

the minitower model uses the 400 watt supply the SFF model has the 230 watt unit as i recall

the 400w psu gives 75w from the pci-e slot and 75w from a 6 pin connector psu GPU connector.

the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER draws power from 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 125 W maximum. so no the HP 400 watt unit is not suitable there are non super 1660 models that do not use a GPU power connector on the video card and while a bit slower are a option

however if you have the minitower, see this link it shows how to replace the propriety HP supply with a standard "ATX" 550 watt supply (or higher) and use a ATX to HP pwr supply adapter
