I don't think this is the right place to ask this, but I'm out of options. When I plug in my backup drive, my pc "hears" it, but it does not bring it up anywhere. This all started at the same time that my computer began having issues starting up (sometimes it takes up to 1 hour to come up). Any ideas? I tried all the "how to's" for bringing the computer up normally, nothing works. Could not find a fix for not recognizing the backup drive. I've plugged other things into those ports and they are recognized. Thanks~

it's quite hard to remotely determine the reason for a failure like this, as such
i strongly recommend you backup all current documents and other file you want to keep to a different device such as a usb key if possible or a online cloud storage such a s MS's Onedrive
once the backup is complete do a FULL os restore
HP systems made in the last 5/6 years will have a option to download a restore USB image from the HP "cloud Backup" website
